DIY Self-watering Planters

(Ballard Designs Style)

These planters are made with glass globes (from light fixtures)

They sit on glass vases as the water reservoir

They require a coco liner

A self-watering wick

A self-watering wick

A circle is cut  from the coco liner and the wick is fed through.

The liner is placed over the small opening of the glass globe

Moss is pressed to the side of the globe

Soil is placed in the center and the top part of the wick extends into the soil

Next comes the plants!

The globe then sits on a clear glass vase with the bottom of the wick below in the reservoir of water.
