Easy Raspberry Squares

Indulge in the delightful sweetness of these homemade raspberry squares, a cherished family recipe that's been adored for generations.

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F and start by whisking the eggs in a small bowl.

Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl, then add the shortening, beaten eggs, and vanilla.

Press 3/4 of the dough into an ungreased 10x15-inch cookie sheet, reserving the remaining 1/4 for the topping.

Spread a generous layer of red raspberry preserves over the dough, leaving a 1/4-inch border for a delicious crust.

Crumble the reserved dough over the raspberry layer, creating a delectable topping.

Bake until golden brown, usually around 25 minutes, and allow the squares to cool before cutting into them.
