How to Plant and Care for a Glass Open Terrarium

Make this sweet terrarium with a DIY stand - in just a few simple steps!

Start by choosing small terrarium plants. I share my favorites  on the blog!

Next grab some supplies!  Potting soil, charcoal, stones and moss.

In your glass bowl, to start -place a layer of stones on the bottom.

Next add some moss.

Then a layer of charcoal.

Next is potting soil!

Then add your plants and some additional moss.

Gather your supplies to make the stand. A wooden bowl that fits your terrarium container, some  wooden ball feet and E6000 glue.

And chalk paint and a paint brush.

First glue the feet on the bottom of the bowl using E6000 glue.

Next paint the bowl and feet with white chalk paint.

After the paint has dried, using sand paper lightly distress the stand.

Last using clear wax, wax the stand to protect the finish (this step is optional)

Place the terrarium in the stand and enjoy!
