- 1 cup raw honey (light, mild varieties like clover or wildflower work best)
- 2 tablespoon dried spearmint leaves (gently crushed)
Warm the honey – In a small saucepan over low heat, gently warm honey until thin and pourable (keep below 110°F)
Add mint – Stir in dried, lightly crushed spearmint leaves. Remove from heat and let steep for 20 minutes.
Strain – Pour honey through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bowl, letting gravity do the work. Discard mint leaves.
Jar and seal – Transfer infused honey into a sterilized glass jar, seal tightly, and store in a cool, dark spot.
- Always use dried mint to avoid excess moisture that can cause spoilage.
- Spearmint is mild and versatile, but you can experiment with peppermint, chocolate mint, or pineapple mint.
- Sterilizing jars helps extend shelf life.
- Store tightly sealed at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
- Best enjoyed within 3–6 months.
