Happenings Around the Nest - Week 14
This Week's Happenings Around the Nest
It has been a full week here in the best possible way. I've been working through holiday decorating, getting a few small projects checked off the list, and enjoying the little moments that make this season feel special. So grab a warm drink and let's catch up.

The tree is up!
The tree is standing tall in the living room, and the house looks exactly like this stage of December always does⦠bins open, pine needles everywhere, and ornaments scattered in little piles while I decide what goes where. It's not the polished reveal, but I kind of love this part. The slow decorating, the tweaking, the stepping back to see what feels right.
I snapped the picture below because it's honest and it's real. The tree is mostly decorated, but there's still a little bit of magic left to add.

Paperwhite Season
I planted my paperwhite narcissus this week, and I swear it never gets old. Those tiny white blooms on those bright green stems feel like Christmas to me. I know not everyone loves the scent, but it doesn't bother me at all. I just love the way they brighten a windowsill in the middle of December. For me, Christmas would not be Christmas without a pot of paperwhites growing somewhere in the house.

A Fresh Wreath in Shades of Green
My front door wreath looks a little different this year. It is a fresh balsam wreath dressed with ribbons in different shades of green. Five bows trail down the right side with simple long tails. The greens stand out beautifully against our green front door. It is understated, clean, and a fun change from the usual Christmas colors this time of year.

This week in a quick snapshot
⢠Trending: My Christmas posts are starting to drop and that is typical as we head into mid December. Most folks are already decorated at this point. The good news is I am seeing some of my herb posts get a little traction again, especially my rosemary flowers and mint flowers posts. Did I mention I am very much looking forward to herb season again?
⢠Watching: I've been hooked on the Brian Walshe murder trial, closing arguments tomorrow! Two of my friends who are also true crime junkies are watching it too. We all watch separately, but we of course keep texting each other our reactions and theories as it unfolds. It has been quite the case.

Wishing you a great weekend ahead. Stay warm and enjoy the season.
