Happenings Around The Nest - Week 3

Hi friends,
Welcome back to another Happenings Around the Nest. Think of this as a little peek behind the curtain: the cozy corners, the tasty experiments in the kitchen, and the bits of blogger chaos that keep things interesting. It is not polished or staged, just real life unfolding here at home, and I love getting to share these little snapshots of my week with you.
A cozy coffee table centerpiece

On one of our walks this week, I couldn't resist foraging some gorgeous fall berry branches. (Still waiting for the police to show up at my door, ha!) I popped them into my favorite scalloped bowl along with faux artichokes and a few mini white pumpkins, and suddenly my coffee table looks like it's ready for a magazine spread. I'll be honest, I don't always have a perfectly styled home - most days there are cups, socks, or a random dog toy scattered around - but creating one intentional spot of beauty makes the whole room feel calm. It's the little things that give me a boost when I walk by with my coffee in hand.

Shane's birthday feast

The kids were over on Sunday to celebrate Shane's birthday, and the house was full of laughter, chatter, and just the right amount of chaos. I had so much fun putting together a charcuterie board with my Harvest Baked Brie right in the center (I skipped the pecans for our nut allergy guy). There's something about gathering around a board that feels so relaxed, everyone picking and nibbling as the conversation flows. For dessert, I tried my hand at a Whoopie Pie Cake for the first time, and it disappeared almost instantly. I did however leave the salad I prepared in the fridge, lol. Moments like this remind me why I love cooking and hosting - it's not about perfection, it's about creating memories.
Here's the Whoppie Pie Cake Recipe I used.
Blog dreams in motion

Behind the blog scenes, I'm still elbows-deep in updates: resizing photos, fixing odd formatting, and rewriting sections that make me cringe a little. It's not glamorous work - in fact, sometimes it feels never-ending - but here's the thing. For the first time, I can really see the blog aligning with what I've always envisioned for it. It feels "whole" now. A mix of home decor, DIY, recipes, and gardening that feels true to me and hopefully inspiring to you. Every late-night editing session, every "oops" moment, is part of shaping this space into something I'm proud of. I imagine you popping over for a recipe, staying for the decor ideas, and leaving with a spark of inspiration for your own home.
That's the week here: foraged centerpieces, birthday treats, and blog dreams in motion. What about you? Have you added any little fall touches to your home yet? Let me know in comments!
