Happenings Around the Nest - Week 7
Welcome to this week's Happenings Around the Nest!
Each Friday, I enjoy giving you a little peek into life at home. From the projects we're working on to the small family moments that brought a smile, and a few thoughts that have been on my mind. Go ahead and pour a cup of coffee, and let's catch up on what's been going on around here.
A Season of GrowthĀ
This week I spent some time updating my About Me page, something I hadn't done in far too long. When I first started Celebrated Nest eight years ago, it was a place to share my love of decorating and creating a warm, welcoming home. Over the years it has grown right alongside me, expanding to include gardening, cooking, and the simple rhythms of everyday living.
Today, Celebrated Nest reflects all the things I love most: home projects, beautiful plants and florals, garden experimenting, and meals that bring family back to the table. It is also a reflection of the season of life Ray and I are in, where the house is "a little" quieter but home feels more meaningful than ever.
If you would like to read more about how it all began and where it is headed next, you can visit the new page here.
Wait⦠Am I a Food Blogger Now?
Somehow, over the past few months, I've found myself writing and photographing recipes. I'm not sure how it happened. I've been cooking for years, usually from memory, a pinch of this and a little of that, but now I'm trying to measure and write it all down. Let's just say it has been a learning curve.
Food blogging (or whatever this is) has turned my kitchen into a mini photo studio and taught me that soup steam has a mind of its own. Still, I'm having so much fun experimenting with food photography and sharing recipes that have been part of our table for years.
So no, I'm not officially a food blogger, but I do love this new chapter of Celebrated Nest where the garden and the kitchen come together in one cozy, delicious mess.

A Wedding to Remember
This week we celebrated the third wedding in our family since May. My nephew Michael married his love, Sarah, and it was such a beautiful day. The ceremony was filled with joy, happy tears, and the kind of laughter that only happens when family gathers.
As I watched them say their vows, I couldn't help but reflect on how much life has unfolded within our family this past year. There have been incredible highs: weddings, new beginnings, and the sweet joy of becoming a grandmother. And there have been deep lows with the loss of my mom. She would have loved seeing her grandchildren begin this next chapter of their lives. She adored them so deeply and was so excited for Sarah to join our family. ā¤ļø
It's a reminder that this stage of life brings both joy and heartache, with kids growing up, new beginnings, and loved ones missed, but also a deep gratitude for every moment we share together.

I hope you're having a wonderful week and that fall is beginning to show up in your corner of the world in all the best ways.

Sending warmth and good thoughts your way this weekend,
