‘Tis the season for decking our New England home out in beautiful holiday style! As many of you know, I’m ALL about infusing green and white into my Christmas decor every year. That color combo just feels like the holidays to me. There’s something so nostalgic about evergreen boughs and fresh white blooms that channels the magic of Christmas. In this post, I’ll take you on a tour of our green and white Christmas decorations.

Living Room: Fresh Greens and Bright Whites

Let’s start with our white cozy living room. Being from the Northeast we always get a fresh Christmas tree, I just love the smell of a live tree and how fresh it looks. The only downside to a fresh tree is we have to wait until a week or two into December to put it up otherwise we will have needles everywhere! Some of the photos I’m sharing below are before putting up our tree. But don’t worry I’m sharing the tree too!

This fabulous lantern is from Antique Farmhouse, it was so fun to design! I made a fresh greenery swag for the top with a big fluffy bow. Inside the lantern, I placed cream-colored bottle brush trees and tiny white houses with lights. I also added some of my favorite faux snow from Pottery Barn, it is so real-looking! I added a hanging star ornament and finished with some battery-operated twinkle lights. In the background for a cozy feel, I hung a comfy throw blanket with some throw pillows and birch logs in some of my favorite storage baskets. Watch me design this lantern.

Across the room sits this white chalk-painted vintage dresser. In the space above I have an all-white gallery wall that has a variety of elements, some of which allow for seasonal changes. Empty frames allow me to hang a variety of items including this little snowflake pictured above. The antique salvaged piece has a little shelf which was the perfect spot for these paper stars. I love these stars for all seasons. You can see how I used them in this summer outdoor space and hung them on our bathroom shelves. I place a battery-operated tea light (votive candles) in the stars so they glow. In this cement urn, I placed these fabulous green and white berry branches from Hobby Lobby. I love how the green pops in this space!

Here’s our fresh Christmas living room tree adorned with green ornaments, white ornaments, lights, ribbon, and puffs of hydrangea blooms! I placed an antique finial on our evergreen tree as the tree topper and as you can see the tree sits next to our mantelpiece. In this photo, you can also see my DIY fireplace screen on our fireplace mantel. I originally made it for the summer months but I love it so much it stays in place all year round.

And last but not least, of course, the presents are wrapped in green and white! Here I placed a simple sprig of faux greens and simply slipped it under the knot.

Dining Room: Natural Neutrals

This hutch in our dining room is so fun and easy to decorate. It holds a lot of my serving dishes, cake stands, pitchers, and guest plates. Because of this, I simply add touches of decor for each season while the contents of the hutch stay the same. The all-white dishes on the white shelves provide a nice neutral background for each season. I hung small wreaths from plates sitting in the plate rack on the bottom of the hutch. The shelves have greenery and ornaments lying around the dishes. For carry-over, I used the same small white houses that I used in the living room lantern. On top are some white trees, tobacco baskets, and a Merry Christmas sign. To the right, I have a large crock with a fresh Christmas tree with lights.

Even our DIY orb chandelier got some Christmas bling! I placed tiny cedar rings with white berries around each candlelight.

Across the dining room is this little antique cubby cabinet. It is filled with small dishes, cups, snowflakes, and little Christmas birds. I also added some of the battery-operated tea lights to brighten the space. Above is a crate that holds more serving plates with small cedar wreaths and another white paper star. I found this Christmas tree print while thrifting, it was just $5.00.

My handmade China Wreath got a festive touch with small sprigs of Christmas greens and a sprinkle of twinkle lights for the holiday season.

I stumbled across these vintage-inspired ornaments at JoAnn’s. I love the timeless shape and the black metal top. It’s hard to see in this photo but the metal top is embossed giving it a real vintage feel. To make these I simply removed the top and then dropped a little sprig of greens and white blooms in. I then put the top back on and hung them from the curtain rods using a black jewelry chain. An easy way to bring in some holiday cheer.

For my place setting, I started with a silver charger. Then I simply stacked some white dishes including my favorite vintage milk glass dishes. For the top dish, I placed these little dessert plates that I had bought years ago from Pier One. The napkin is green with white polka dots and sitting at the top is a little white bird.

The Kitchen: Handcrafted Touches

I start my decorating with my baking station. This old vintage mantel serves as a shelf above a vintage drawer filled with baking supplies and canisters. I add touches of Christmas throughout using trees, lights and vintage tins.

These classic cookie cutters, featuring wooden handles in a charming shade of green, complement my green and white decor seamlessly.

During the holiday season, my canisters are adorned with a small sprig of Christmas greens, miniature pinecones, and elegantly tied bows. This is the perfect way to add some holiday charm to your kitchen.

Next to our sink sits the now infamous kitchen sink tray. This tray has been styled in so many different ways through the years! This year the tray includes a green Christmas tree and other holiday decorations. Here’s where you can shop this tray.

Hanging in the window is the sweet dainty DIY fruit garland featuring dried green apples, pinecones, green sprigs of cedar and twinkle lights.

We love to entertain during the holiday season. Our kitchen counter served as a hot cocoa station for one of our gatherings with white dishes and green accents for our holiday guests.

Entryway: Rustic Charm

When you walk in our front door we have a small foyer. On one side there is a white chalk-painted pew bench that we placed hooks on. I hang a variety of decor items from these hooks. Here I hung a pair of knit mittens with Christmas greenery and berries stuffed inside.

Across the way is my beloved green card catalog, a project that holds a special place in my heart. You can explore the transformation of this apothecary-turned-card catalog by clicking the link. I arranged a stack of books with green and white covers to form a unique Christmas tree. Enhancing it with a bow, some faux greenery, and, of course, fairy lights for the Christmas season. My fondness for incorporating books into my decor knows no bounds!

  1. Everything is absolutely stunning! I have to say I’m a little jealous, we moved from the East Coast to Arizona 6 years ago. We tried to have a real tree the first year and it died so quickly. So, now they’re all artificial, I miss the smell of a fresh cut tree in the home! Happy Holidays!
